Daylong Mindfulness Retreats at the Whidbey Institute Sanctuary
with Kurt Hoelting
the Winter retreat that was scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2o19, has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2020, celebrating the Spring equinox
Join Kurt at the beautiful Whidbey Institute Sanctuary on Whidbey Island for a day of mindfulness. Timed to correspond with the seasonal changes, these daylong retreats offer an opportunity to mark the seasons with a day of reflection and rest. In a culture that never slows down, never stops striving, these retreats offer a chance to refresh our spirits while revitalizing our practice of mindfulness.
Appropriate for seasoned meditators, or those just beginning a practice, these retreat blend guided sitting meditation with periods of yoga and mindful movement in the sanctuary, along with extended periods of walking meditation on the beautiful Whidbey Institute trails. There is also a lovely stone labyrinth for walking meditation adjacent to the sanctuary.
Nestled in the center of 100 acres of protected forest land, the Whidbey Institute is a place apart, a place steeped in natural beauty, that exudes a spirit of both presence and craft - an ideal place to practice mindfulness.
Just a ten minute drive from the Whidbey Island ferry landing in Clinton, and less than an hours drive from Seattle, the Institute is surprisingly close to the urban centers around Puget Sound. Yet it feels far from the buzz of the city. Instructions for getting to the Whidbey Institute, and planning your trip, are available here.
Cost of the retreat is by donation at the day of the retreat.. REGISTER HERE. Further retreat details will be provided upon registration.
